Week 48 - Our neighbourhood

We love where we live. The coastline, the greenbelts, the parks and ponds....there's definitely something to be said for our little slice of paradise. There are still areas waiting to be developed once the housing market picks up again, and I wanted to capture what it's like now, because things change fast, and who knows what it'll be like in another 5-10 years.

Week 47 - Happy Birthday Elisa

How can the youngest in our family suddenly be four?? Elisa is definitely coming into her own now. She has a stubborn streak that either makes us laugh or gets us frustrated, but at least she's demonstrating her own mind and character. This week was spent preparing for her party, buying supplies, wrapping gifts, planning party activities etc. She ended up having a really wonderful day with family and friends. It meant a lot to me that she had friends from kindy there, as previous birthdays she only had family. Now she is in kindy 3 days a week, she is making her own friends for the first time, and that makes my heart glad. You can see it in detail HERE.

Week 46 - TV, Movies and Media

I'm not a big movie watcher, though I used to be. (All my spare time it spent scrapping these days). DH and the kids love TV and movies however, and we have to be careful just how much media our girls are absorbing even when it's unintentional.

Week 45 - The Lord in our lives

I am mindful that all our blessings come from above, so wanted to show a little example of how we welcome Jesus Christ into our home. We have family home evenings on Mondays, Church on Sundays, and I am Secretary for the Relief Society at church, so I will occasionally have meetings, or be busy doing the newsletter, updating the Relief Society blog etc. We have family prayers daily, and try to teach the kids wholesome values that will strengthen their characters and hold them in good stead as they grow. We are teaching our girls modesty in the way they dress now, so come the teenage years they will already know the standard, and won't feel the rules are being changed on them. I have a strong testimony of our Lord and Savior, and I know that all good things come through Him and through our faith. I pray our girls will build their own testimony of Him in time. Week 44 - From the mouths of babes

I know, I know, Project 365 is supposed to be about taking a photo a day, and believe it or not I did take photos this week, but in putting the layout together, it just looked better without them. Our kids come up with some really funny stuff, and once I started listening out for them, I had no problem filling my notebook for this week's theme. You can see it up close in my Oscraps gallery.
