Week 27 - Rotorua

Our week in Rotorua was really wonderful. The girls loved having Nana and Poppa close by, and we got to do a lot of activities we hadn't done before. Hubby was working, so I think we'll have to do this trip again one day with him too.

Week 26 - The end of the term

It was kind of a hodge podge week, but all focussed on Nana and Poppa coming up for the holidays. It wasn't an easy decision to swap Playcentre for Kindy, but all the kids at Playcentre are a lot younger than Elisa now, and I think Kindy will be better for her social interaction. That and the fact that it is right next door to the school she'll eventually be attending, so she can build friendships early, with the kids she'll be going to school with. She starts on the 20th of July. Did I mention that it's walking distance from our house? Another bonus.

No surprise that the girls were ecstatic to have Nana and Poppa arrive on Thursday. I love that no matter how much time has passed, our girls are as close to them as ever.

Week 25 - Creativity

This was a particularly creative week for us. I had presents organised for 3 baby showers, and the girls of course wanted to get their hands dirty too, making pupper theatres, colouring in and generally making a big mess. My scrap room is a disaster zone now. I'm off to go clean it up. If you don't hear from me in a couple of days, call an extraction team. ;D

Week 24 - In the news

What would a snapshot of our year be without a note about some of the news stories of the moment? You could of course do a whole 365 album on this subject alone, but I just wanted to pick one thing each day that was either on TV, on the internet or in the paper. I think it'll be interesting a few years from now to look back at these stories and see how/if they've developed (especially the oil spill).
