P12 - December

Since December was so busy, and I had so many photos, I decided to do a four page spread this month.

My plan for 2011 - P12

OK, so I mentioned earlier that I had a different plan for documenting our family life in 2011. Doing Project 365 two years in a row was great, but time intensive. This year I wanted to simplify things a little. OK, a lot. I decided a monthly summary would be best, and Biograffiti's My Life and Story (and Add-on set) is going to help me do that.

Now I realise for some people P12 means to take one photo a month and scrap that. For me this means to take a selection of all the photos from the month, and scrap them.

There's no set number of photos for each month either - I just choose however many pictures I want to represent that month and pop them onto the template. I may end up with a double page spread for the month, or I may end up with three or four pages if we've been particularly busy. And the best thing? I don't have to embellish it at all. That alone is going to save me a ton of time.

I'm going to be consistent with my date and font, to give the book a cohesive look, and have chosen Simply Stamped Alpha by Zoe Pearn for the titlework, and Museo Slab font for the journalling. What do you think?

Thinking ahead to when it's time to print, I have reduced the size of the template slightly to allow for wider page borders. This means there'll be nothing cut off in the printing process.

So that's my plan. I'm excited about it actually. I love the clean look, and that I get to include a whole lot of photos. There's enough room for journalling, and I can always replace a photo spot with more journalling if I want to. Now tell me, what are you doing to record your year?

Last pages

Since the album this year has been clean and simple in design, I wanted to keep the title and end pages simple too. I can't leave 2010 without saying a great big thankyou to Biograffiti who so generously allowed me to use her P365 templates all year. I love her designs so much that I have decided to continue using her products to document our 2011 year. More on that in the next post. Here are the last pages for 2010.

I will print this photobook through My Reflections in Perth Australia. All I'm waiting on is for their next sale, as I have three other 100 page albums to print too.

Week 52 - Farewell 2010

Woohoo, I did it! Another P365 completed (well, less the title and last pages - those are still to come). I'm so glad I stuck with it this year. Next year I have a different plan of attack, which while it won't be a P365, will still document our year. More about that soon. Till then, here is how we spent our last week of 2010.

Week 51 - Christmas in Christchurch

We alternate Christmas's with my family in the North Island, and DH's parents in the South Island. This year we went south, and as always had a fabulous time.

Week 50 - Reviewing Brooke

I like doing these review pages. When I look back to the one earlier in the year I can really see how much the kids have grown.

Week 49 - A Review of Elisa at Four

How on earth did my little one get to be four already! Thought it was time to do a review of her as a comparison to the one earlier in the year.

Week 48 - Our neighbourhood

We love where we live. The coastline, the greenbelts, the parks and ponds....there's definitely something to be said for our little slice of paradise. There are still areas waiting to be developed once the housing market picks up again, and I wanted to capture what it's like now, because things change fast, and who knows what it'll be like in another 5-10 years.

Week 47 - Happy Birthday Elisa

How can the youngest in our family suddenly be four?? Elisa is definitely coming into her own now. She has a stubborn streak that either makes us laugh or gets us frustrated, but at least she's demonstrating her own mind and character. This week was spent preparing for her party, buying supplies, wrapping gifts, planning party activities etc. She ended up having a really wonderful day with family and friends. It meant a lot to me that she had friends from kindy there, as previous birthdays she only had family. Now she is in kindy 3 days a week, she is making her own friends for the first time, and that makes my heart glad. You can see it in detail HERE.
